NetSuite to Tellency Migration: Planning Guide
When evaluating a move from NetSuite to Tellency, establish the target workflow before planning the data transfer. Map the entities, records, customisations and connected systems that make the current operation work.

Plan a workflow demo →Describe the entity and reporting structure
List the subsidiaries, currencies, warehouses, users and approval relationships in scope. Identify intercompany and reporting requirements explicitly. NetSuite’s ERP family includes global-business capabilities; any replacement proposal must demonstrate the specific outcomes your organisation relies on.
Create a record and customisation inventory
Collect examples of customers, suppliers, items, accounts, open transactions and custom records. Include reports, custom fields, scripts, forms and saved searches that influence daily work. Decide which behaviours need a target equivalent and which can be retired.
Choose a history strategy deliberately
Agree which transactions need operational access in Tellency and which can remain in a retained archive. Specify attachments, audit evidence, old document references and retention responsibilities. Keeping an export file is different from giving staff a usable route to historical records.
Reconcile by entity and location
Trial the migration and compare the agreed ledgers, aged balances, bank positions and stock quantities/values. Reconcile at the entity and location level needed for acceptance. A matching company-wide total can conceal a balance mapped to the wrong account or branch.
Rebuild the customer and commerce handoffs
Map each CRM, website, marketplace, payment and reporting connection. Define identifiers, update direction and error recovery. If branded Tellency ecommerce is included, test catalogue publication, checkout, fulfilment and the financial result as a new complete workflow.
Use a signed acceptance and support plan
Rehearse user access, approvals, a normal order, a correction and a failed connection. Name the cutover decision owner and the people on the support rota. Implementation timing, retained functionality and total cost should come from the evaluated proposal, not a generic migration promise.
Questions before you choose
Can NetSuite data be moved into Tellency?
Assess the actual exports, custom records and target requirements first. Agree supported mappings, retained history and reconciliation evidence in the migration scope.
What is the first deliverable?
A fit-gap and data inventory, supported by sample records and a definition of the target financial, stock and operational opening position.
